SOLDERING IRON

Overview.

A redesign of the entry-level soldering iron for students and hobbyists. The market spans $2 to $100+, but every iron — regardless of price — shares the same cylindrical, pen-like form. Same ergonomics. Same exposed tip. Same industrial look that says don't touch me. This project closes that gap: better grip, a built-in safety system, and a visual language worth putting on your desk

challenge.

Thin handles cause fatigue. Hot tips stay exposed when set down. Separate stands get lost. And every product in the category looks identical, utilitarian by default, not by intention. The opportunity wasn't to add features. It was to fix what's always been ignored.
